Marisa Anne Edmund, Chairman and Chief Sales & Marketing Officer at Edmund Optics Inc., has over 25 years of experience in the photonics industry as a global leader in direct marketing, sales, organizational development, and strategic planning.
A third-generation owner of Edmund Optics Inc., Marisa specializes in global communications, human resources, integration of acquired companies and expanding into emerging markets. Edmund Optics maintains over 11 global offices including manufacturing facilities, produces its catalog in 9 languages with 13 currency versions, and provides over 35,000 products online.
Marisa received a BSBA at Georgetown University School of Business and a Master's in Business Studies at Stockton College while raising her family of three children. She is a Senior Member of the Society of Photo-Optics Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE).
She founded the Haddonfield Youth Lacrosse Program for girls in her hometown of Haddonfield, New Jersey in 2012—and now serves as president of the program of which includes nearly 500 boys and girls.
Eligibility:
Eligible students will be full-time undergraduates entering their sophomore, junior or senior year who are enrolled in The University of Arizona James C. Wyant College of Optical Sciences. Recipients must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
Student applicants must demonstrate an interest in, or provide evidence of, advancing women in the fields of optical sciences and optical engineering. This evidence can be measured from an active membership in student groups, such as Women in Optics at the Wyant College of Optical Sciences.
Preference will be given to students who have demonstrated financial need based on the FAFSA. The recipient(s) are eligible for internship opportunities with Edmund Optics, Inc., should the recipient(s) so choose.
