Congratulations to Wenjun Kang, PhD student at the Wyant College of Optical Sciences, for receiving the Optica Foundation 2023 Harvey M. Pollicove Memorial Scholarship.

In celebration of National Hispanic / Latinx Heritage Month, Sept. 15 - Oct. 15, we recognize Wyant College alumna, Dr. David Vega (MS, 2018 & PhD, 2021). Today, Dr. Vega is an optical scientist working with Ansys Zemax.

Congratulations to Wyant College of Optical Sciences alumnus, Mark Shand, on being selected as the recipient for the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 1906 Award. Mark said of the award, "this was in no small way facilitated by the knowledge I gained at OSC and in particular the Master's report work I was able to do under the supervision of Jim Schwiegerling."

Congratulations to the Wyant College of Optical Science's latest Staff Recognition Award winners! Belinda McCleese was nominated by Cyndy Noriega for the March 2023 SPOT award.  Chris McCormack Obregon was selected for the 2nd Quarter Peer-to-Peer award, nominated by Dalziel Wilson, and Channel Lemon was selected for the 3rd Quarter Peer-to-Peer award, nominated by Kaye Rowan. 

Wyant College of Optical Sciences alumni are all working on such exciting projects and studies. One such alumnus recently appeared in an Apple Events Video discussing the release of the new iPhone 15 Pro Camera design. Misha Scepanovic (OSC, MS 2005) is now the Director of Optical Engineering at Apple and is working on exciting new research that is developing the amazing new technology in Apple's phones.
