Outstanding Students of 2024-2025

As the spring semester wrapped up, the Wyant College of Optical Sciences gathered to recognize some of our most outstanding students at our Eegee’s Study Break celebration, an event filled with laughter, music, and well-deserved appreciation.

The event provided a fun opportunity for students to unwind with cold Eegee’s treats, enjoy a lively round of karaoke, and celebrate the achievements of their peers. We were proud to publicly honor five exceptional individuals for their academic excellence, dedication, and perseverance:

• Outstanding Undergraduate Student: Eliana Stilson (B.S.)
• Wildcat Award: Ricky Saxena (B.S. student) — awarded for overcoming challenges on the path to earning a degree in Optical Sciences and Engineering
• Outstanding Teaching Assistant for a B.S. OSE Course: Chase Toncheff (M.S. student)
• Outstanding Graduate Student: Laura Sawyer (Ph.D. student)
• Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant: Paola Luna (Ph.D. student)
