Unexpected Chirality of Nanoparticle Dimers and Ultrasensitive Chiroplasmonic Bioanalysis
Abstract:
This paper describes an interesting and unexpected characteristic of nanoparticle dimers in response to polarized light. It also shows an unusual and consistent binding mechanic when these particles are bound together using biomolecules. These properties are then effectively used for biosensing several biomarkers of disease.
Bio:
I am a fifth-year MD/PhD student currently in my third year of the Optics PhD and I am studying nanoparticle-based biosensors and lens-free imaging in the lab of Dr. Euan McLeod. My research interests are in novel medical technologies and their development and application to medicine.
