nobel prize in physics for quantum entanglement

This week, in Stockholm, the Nobel Prize in physics was awarded to researchers from France, Austria and the USA whose studies confirmed the bizarre nature of quantum entanglement. The topic is of high interest at the Wyant College and for the NSF-funded Engineering Research Center for Quantum Networks (CQN), of which UArizona is the lead institute. The Wyant College congratulates Alain Aspect, Anton Zeilinger, and John F. Clauser on the award “for experiments with entangled photons, establishing the violation of Bell inequalities and pioneering quantum information science,” according to the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. CQN has released an official statement on their website in recognition of the news. Additionally, Optics.org has released a press release featuring an interview of CQN leadership regarding the news.
