Robert M. Edmund, CEO and chairman of the board of directors for Edmund Optics, is well-known for his expertise in business strategy, optical manufacturing, product development and global catalog marketing. Under his leadership, EO has expanded from a local New Jersey business to a leading international optics manufacturer with locations worldwide. His mission is to provide more optics, more technology and more service to the global photonics community and to champion optical innovation.
Edmund is a founding member and longtime chairman of the University of Arizona College of Optical Sciences development board of directors. He also invests his company’s interests in the college’s academic and research programs, including a long-standing Industrial Affiliates program membership and sponsorship of the EO Undergraduate Study Center. As a result of his dedication to optics education, EO has become a top employer of OSC graduates.
In addition to his board positions at the University of Arizona, Edmund has served on several industry boards, and in 2011 he was named a senior member of SPIE. Edmund is a graduate of Georgetown University's School of Business.
