Work at a rapidly growing startup at the intersection of AI and multispectral cameras. The National Ocean and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is funding the development of a harmful algal bloom (red tide) submersible microscope. In this position, you will improve the design of

• LED and laser diode illumination optics
• Microscope objective selection and imaging optics
• Spectral filtering for five specific wavelengths

You must have a strong background in optics simulation software and a hands-on attitude to test and verify designs. The ideal candidate would also have software experience to verify camera calibration and alignment. You will join a team of young professionals mentored by senior staff. To ensure your mentoring is effective and you learn a lot, this is an in-person position at our office in Sausalito, California. Relocation expenses of $250 each in your first and last paycheck.
