Undergraduate Scholarship Endowment Established by Edmund Optics, Inc.
The University of Arizona Wyant College of Optical Sciences is pleased to announce the Marisa A. Edmund Advancing Women in Optics Scholarship, established by Edmund Optics, Inc. This permanent scholarship endowment is for full-time undergraduate students and designed to promote diversity in the field of optics and is named for Marisa A. Edmund, Chief Global Marketing & Sales Officer at Edmund Optics, Inc.
A third-generation owner of Edmund Optics Inc., Marisa specializes in global communications, human resources, integration of acquired companies and expanding into emerging markets. Edmund Optics maintains over 11 global offices including manufacturing facilities, produces its catalog in 9 languages with 13 currency versions, and provides over 35,000 products online. She offers over 25 years of experience in the photonics industry as a global leader in direct marketing, sales, organizational development, and strategic planning.
Marisa received a BSBA at Georgetown University School of Business and a Master's in Business Studies at Stockton College while raising her family of three children. She is a Senior Member of SPIE.
Her personal accomplishments include the founding of the Haddonfield Youth Lacrosse Program for girls in her hometown of Haddonfield, New Jersey in 2012. Today, she is president of the program that now serves nearly 500 boys and girls.

Koch. “The criteria of the Marisa Edmund scholarship strongly aligns with the College’s belief that supporting diversity in sciences promotes success by encouraging broader perspectives in innovation.”
All full-time undergraduate students enrolled at UA Wyant College may apply. Student applicants must demonstrate an interest in or provide evidence of advancing women in the fields of optical sciences and optical engineering.
