Welcome, Michelle

Wyant College of Optical Sciences is pleased to welcome Michelle Houseknecht as the college's new Grant and Contract Coordinator II. Michelle is working directly under the supervision of Laura Ross and will be focusing on the coordination of the many incoming contracts and grants at the college. Originally from Chandler, AZ, Michelle moved to Tucson in 2014. Previously, she worked as a mortgage professional specializing in processing and underwriting and later she managed financials for a Well Scan Company in southern Arizona. Michelle has long-term goals at the University of Arizona and hopes to see her career here grow. Michelle says, "What I'm looking forward to in this new role is the opportunity to grow with a community of amazing individuals at college that has certainly made and is continuing to make a leading name for itself on a global level." 

Michelle is passionate about nature and living life to the fullest. She enjoys camping, fishing, hiking, and traveling.
