Wenjun Kang Selected for Optica 2023 Pollicove Memorial Scholarship

Congratulations to Wenjun Kang, PhD student at the Wyant College of Optical Sciences, for receiving the Optica Foundation 2023 Harvey M. Pollicove Memorial Scholarship.

Wenjun's research focuses on precision freeform optics fabrication and interferometry-based on-machine metrology, which are integrated with optical design. His work involves research in various fabrication techniques, including 3D stereolithography optics printing, precision diamond turning, and precision glass molding-enabled design. These projects encompass a wide range of aspects, from space project lens to biomedical imaging systems and elements.

Wenjun said of the honor, "This scholarship carries on the legacy of Harvey M. Pollicove, whose leadership and visionary drive in the field of precision optics manufacturing serve as a constant source of inspiration for my work."
