We are excited to welcome Ember Deitz Goldstein as the new Director of Development at the Wyant College of Optical Sciences!

Ember brings a wealth of experience in university fundraising, having held leadership roles at Oberlin College, Boston University, and Harvard, as well as Columbia University, where she also earned her MBA. Her career spans both the U.S. and international landscapes, with twelve years of experience living and working in London and Hong Kong. While in London, she served on the board of the Columbia UK Fund and built a donor pipeline in Europe. In Hong Kong, she helped establish the Hong Kong International Chamber Music Festival and provided consulting services to educational and arts institutions across Asia.

Since moving to Tucson in 2021, Ember has been captivated by the desert landscape and enjoys having her husband’s extended family in the region. Now, she is thrilled to step into the development role at Wyant College.

“I’m looking forward to meeting current and future donors, working with the faculty, and finding new opportunities for support and growth. I know I have very big shoes to fill. What Jim Wyant, Tom Koch, and Kaye Rowan accomplished in philanthropic support for the College is remarkable. In the spirit of their achievements, I will continue to focus on the needs of the students and the faculty whose ideas, efforts, and creations power the future growth of not just the College but the optics/photonics industry.”

Please join us in welcoming Ember to the Wyant College of Optical Sciences! Feel free to reach out and introduce yourself—Ember looks forward to connecting with the college community!  Find Ember in Meinel 721 or reach her at embergoldstein@arizona.edu or 520-626-8754.
