Julie Emms Nominated for Edith Sayre Auslander Emerging Visionary Award
Julie Emms, administrative director of the NSF-ERC Center for Quantum Networks, was nominated for the Edith Sayre Auslander Emerging Visionary Award, awarded by the UA Commission on the Status of Women (CSW). The award ceremony was Oct. 17 afternoon in ENR2. The Emerging Visionary Award recognizes the nominee for demonstrating strong support and encouragement for diversity cultivation, and advancement in CSW goals.
Brianna Moreno, senior coordinator of CQN, nominated Emms saying, "Ms. Emms is the greatest champion of her employees. Her door is always open, and she provides ongoing support to ensure that they are treated fairly and provided all the resources they need to succeed. She is the first to offer mentoring and encouraging staff to seek out opportunities to better themselves. As a working mother, I have never felt so supported."
Congratulations, Julie!
