WINNERS OF THE OSA FOUNDATION WOMEN IN OPTICS SCHOLARSHIP

The OSA Foundation launched The Women in Optics Scholarship at the University of Arizona Wyant College of Optical Sciences this spring. The Scholarship program supports professional development with the goal of reducing financial hurdles and barriers, allowing talented researchers to focus on their academic experience. Thanks to the generous contributions of Janet Fender (OSC PhD ’81 and OSA President ‘97) and John Otten III and  James Wyant (OSC Founding Dean and 2010 OSA President), and Tammy Orr, two women were selected to receive the scholarship this year. Congratulations Madeline Bergay and Sarina Grijalva!
