Teledyne Photometrics designs and manufactures high-performance Scientific CMOS, CCD and EMCCD cameras that support demanding, quantitative bio-research.

Position Summary and Responsibilities
A fall internship is available at TELEDYNE PHOTOMETRICS’ facility in Tucson, Arizona. The internship applicant will receive suitable training to perform functional testing of a range of the company’s state-of-the-art Scientific CMOS cameras. The position requires basic programming knowledge (C/C++ or Python) and some experience operating standard lab test equipment (oscilloscope, waveform generator). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain experience with scientific camera metrics, validation testing and software stacks. Depending on skills match and progress, an opportunity may exist for the intern to participate in aspects of design and development for image processing projects.

Key duties and responsibilities
• Perform camera function testing and assess performance against requirements.
• Describe and document any identified camera performance issues and work with engineering staff to identify root cause.
• Capture, manipulate and summarize camera performance data in Microsoft Excel.
• Leverage and help develop automated test tools.

• Currently enrolled on a BS or MS degree program in an engineering or scientific field.
• Basic knowledge of a modern programming language (C/C++, Python)
• Experience operating standard lab test equipment (oscilloscope, waveform generator)
• Experience with standard office productivity tools (Microsoft Office or similar)
• An ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely verbally and in writing
